MPRA-RI Awards the 2021 CSM Edward McConnell scholarship
In the spirit of hard work and commitment to bettering communities and organizations, the CSM Edward McConnell Scholarship is awarded to exceptional members of the Military Police Regimental Association of Rhode Island (MPRA-RI), the Rhode Island National Guard (RING), and their families.
This year MPRA-RI offered a total of four (4) scholarships, each for one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). Two (2) scholarships were offered to members of MPRA-RI and the RING. An additional two (2) scholarships were offered to the immediate family (spouses, children, adopted/step-children, grandchildren) of members of the MPRA-RI or RING members.
Applications were submitted to the MPRA-RI Scholarship committee for consideration. The committee ranked applicants based on their grades, extracurricular activities, experiences, vision for their future, and recommendations. Considering all these factors utilizing a weighted evaluation system, the committee selected this year's scholarship awardees.
It is my pleasure to announce the following individuals as the 2021 CSM Edward McConnell Scholarship winners:
Alyssa Graham
Matthew Silva
Alyssa Storm
Skylar DeGraw

MPRA-RI Donates to Rhode Island Military Organization (RIMO)
The MPRA-RI chapter joined the 119th MP Company Reunion committee in making matching donations of $500,00 to the Rhode Island Military Organization (RIMO) at the February Members meeting at the Warwick Armory.
The Rhode Island Military Organization is a special group of dedicated individuals striving to make a difference in the lives of Rhode Island's active duty, veterans, and their community.
They also founded and manage the T. F. Green Military Lounge. The T.F. Green airport is a critical transportation hub to Naval Station Newport without a USO facility. RIMO provides that quintessential relief and reprieve for military members and their families inside the airport.
